Cifu’s LIMBIC-CENC Publication Recognized with the Stonnington Award at IBIA
David Cifu, MD, the LIMBIC-CENC Principal Investigator was recognized at the recent International Brain Injury Association (IBIA) meeting in Dublin, Ireland with the Stonnington Award as the Best Review Article for 2022 in the journal Brain Injury (Volume 36, Issue 5, pages 587-597; PMID: 35080997). The article, “Clinical research findings from the Long-term Impact of Military-relevant Brain Injury Consortium-Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium (LIMBIC-CENC) 2013-2021” highlights and reviews the decade of research publications from the nationwide research team. Henry Herbert Stonnington, MBBS, founded the journal in 1983 and it has evolved into one of the leading international neuroscience publications. Coincidently, Dr. Stonnington was the chair of the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of PM&R in the mid-1980’s and Dr. Cifu has been VCU’s PM&R Chair since 1998.
